The Pyrographer
I started pyrography in a high school art class, with my first pieces being just some doodles, but then I developed my skills until I was burning portraits of the musicians I loved from the grunge era, such as Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley. After high school, I found a passion for working with stone; I loved collecting them wherever I traveled, and I would tumble many to see their beauty beneath. This led to jewelry making, which I have continued with my wife Kate for the past 18 years. As an English teacher, I made my garage into my classroom during Covid, and there I rediscovered my pyrography tools. After each day of distance learning, I would escape into rediscovering my passion for this art form, first with a beginners pyrography set, then soon upgrading to a TRUArt 60W pyrography pen, which let me become more detailed in my craft. I love crafting anything with nature imagery, portraits, music-inspired pieces, geometric designs- and anything a customer requests, because I know that I can make someone happy with my art. Many of my pieces are burned free-hand, while others are crafted using stencils I create. No lasers! Thank you for checking out my work!
